Learn new instructional strategies for differentiating instruction and gathering evidence of what your students know. This session will highlight a variety of resources to help you get started using Discovery Education Streaming including Board Builder, My DE, My Content, Quicklist, and more! Presented by the DEN Team STEMtastic- Learn how to incorporate hands-on STEM activities into their curriculum. Appropriate for all subject & grade levels. Presented by Patti Grammens You can Work Smarter… But its Still Work- In this session we will look at ways to utilize the web to help manage your life, your classes, and your PLN. It really is possible to work smarter rather than harder, but keep in mind there’s still some work involved! Twitter is also a means for students to share what they have learned with a real-world audience. You don’t have to have a Twitter account to participate. Presented by Kati Searcy Stop, Drop & Roll- When is the last time you found an idea so awesome you stopped what you were doing, dropped everything, and rolled with it? Join DENbrarian Sandi Dennis for a fast-paced collection of ideas that will inspire you and your students to STOP, DROP and ROLL! Library Media Specialists and anyone who loves a library will especially enjoy this breakout session. Presented by Sandi Dennis Go Noodle & Class Dojo- GoNoodle is an interactive way to get students involved in indoor recess activities using silly brain games, songs, dances mixed with yoga and zumba type activities. GoNoodle is appropriate for grades K-6, but older students many enjoy it also. Class Dojo is a fun and interactive way for parents and students to find out in real time what the students behavior is at a particular time within the classroom. It a cool behavior management tool that can be incorporated by the teacher easily and would be appropriate for grades K-6. Presented by Constance Keeling & Katherine Barnes Teach a Lesson Using Just One Image- The days of bullet points are over. Students engage with visual cues like images. In this session we’ll look at several different ways to use just one image to teach an entire lesson! We’ll also look at where to find compelling images and how to create your own! In this session, you will brainstorm a variety of ways that your students can “show what they know” by creating a board using resources from Discovery Education. Tap into your students’ creativity (and your own!) - they will love to showcase their learning! Presented by Shelby Bailey Digging Deeper into Digital: Using Digital Media to Enhance Student Experiences Are you pondering exactly how to integrate digital media into your classroom? While trying out several strategies in this presentation, you will learn to incorporate TED talks, podcasts, photography, and blogs into your daily classroom activities. Beginners will learn how to access digital information while more technologically advanced teachers will learn how to apply strategies to enhance student engagement through the use of digital media.
