Engage Your Students with Free Web Tools- This popular, fast paced session from the recent MACUL Conference will feature many terrific, but lesser known, web resources that can quickly and easily enhance the classroom experience for both teachers and students. Most of these tools do not require a user account, making them ideal for classroom use. You will rethink your classroom lessons after attending this session. Presented by Dave Tchozewski. Creating and Sharing in a Digital World- Students have many great stories to tell! Using technology to create and publish engages students in a way that paper and pencil never did. Favorite digital tools and strategies will be shared including Shadow Puppet, Storybird, DE Board Builder, Kidblog, and S.O.S. (DE Spotlight on Strategies). A green screen will be set up for participants to work hands-on with the magic of a green screen and Discovery resources. Dave, a veteran technology conference presenter, is now in his 28th year in education. He is a 22-year veteran of the high school math classroom before moving into his current role as Director of Information Technology for Jenison Public Schools in Michigan. He now leads his district in providing access to appropriate technology services that positively impact teaching and learning.
Dave is a DEN STAR, DEN Leadership Council member, and a DEN Guru (Class of 2014). He is a five-time Discovery Educator Network Summer Institute (DENSI) attendee, and an Apple Academy attendee.
