Empire B: Putting Students First- The time for teacher-centricity has passed. If technology doesn’t put students at the center of their own learning, then we’re doing something wrong. Explore ways to differentiate instruction, individualize learning, and provide students new ways to express their creativity in the classroom. From integrating digital media in your lessons, to expanding learning far beyond the classroom walls, we’ll demonstrate how to leverage online resources to let students lead their educational journeys. Presented by Steve Dembo
Empire C: Paper Slide Evolution- Join Dr. Lodge and friends to explore the next generation of 1-take paperslide videos. The session will kick off with an activity where participants will be challenged to collaborate to create a 1-take paperslide video. Then we will hear from Dr. Brandy Parker, analytics expert and award-winning communicator at Johnson & Johnson, about how she uses paperslide videos in the corporate environment. Finally, we will connect with Jann Maser, a children's book illustrator who is designing the paperslide music videos for Dr. Lodge's #50StatesAlbum. She will talk about her creative process and take questions.
Empire D: Heuristic Augmented Learning Lab (HALL)- The digital world has produced many apps and sites that do wondrous things. But what are ways to stretch student thinking so they produce new uses for them? Uber, Post-It Notes, microwaves, space travel, and even Google itself grew as tangents spun from existing tools.
