Discovery Education 101- Engage your learners like never before! Learn new instructional strategies for differentiating instruction and gathering evidence of what your students know. This session will highlight a variety of resources to help you get started using Discovery Education Streaming including Board Builder, My DE, My Content, Quicklist, and more! Presented by the DEN Team Google Coonected Apps for Students- We are moving farther away from the desktop-installed programs and more into web-based apps for student creative products. The Connected Apps allow students to continue creations from any computer, auto-save their work, and in some cases, work collaboratively on group products. We will demonstrate a few of these apps and a few strategies for teachers to help manage student products. With unique logins, students can browse grade-specific content, access personalized assignments, curate, create, and synthesize content to express their personal curiosity, solve problems, and demonstrate their acquisition of knowledge. You’ll also have time to go hands-on to explore how Board Builder can be used by teachers and students. You’ll learn creative way to present lessons, set up stations and organize digital resources. Have to take another class due to testing? Why not play 3 Truths/1 Lie? All of these strategies and some more can help you in a pinch...that's why they are SOS! Take these tried and true ideas and expand them to large group activities for those moments when your class is plus sized. Appropriate for all grade levels. Includes social studies and science integration. Presented by Lindsay Foster Discovery, Create, Speak, Link- Make biographies and history come alive! Students will use DE to research an important historical figure. They will use the PhotoSpeak app to create an "autobiography. Once the videos are saved, teacher or students can create a handout of QR codes which the class can use to learn about each one.
